Garmin Vector Pedals To Be Made by Exustar
Garmin has designed its Vector power meter around Exustar’s Look Keo – compatible pedal design.
Garmin doesn’t hide the fact that the Vector pedals are made by Exustar(aside from the spindles and electronics). The partnership looks to be a smart one, too, as Exustar offers a broad range of options including on- and off-road models that can be adapted for the power measuring hardware. The Vector pedals are based on Exustar’s E-PR3 model.
The Garmin-Sharp team has been wear testing empty Vector pedals for more than a season now. As a result, the rear of the pedal has been significantly beefed up from the original versions, and there’s a replaceable stainless steel plate up top. The Garmin Vector pod contains a replaceable battery and ANT+ wireless transmitter. A small plastic-covered ribbon cable connects the pod to the spindle, the bulls-eye connector ensures proper contact regardless of the Garmin Vector spindle’s rotational position. A metal clip secures the plug in place and the connection is sealed with an o-ring.
